When designing our product, we take extra time to make sure it is safe.  Even with lots of forethought, we still come up with additional improvements for added safety , especially when there is a high volume of use on a particular feature. One additional modification that we make available for our Boxcar rail is a coping connector for the face plate. As you can see in the pictures below, this add-on simply keeps the outside edges of the face plate from pulling away if accidentally caught by a snowboard or ski. If you have a Boxcar and you would like to add this feature, we sell a kit for $8.00  per face plate and included is two Polyurethane coping inserts, 2 washers, 2 screws and 2 set screws.

We often receive requests to make our Boxcar rail longer than 8 feet. Because we ship our product via UPS we are limited in our package size. This limit will no longer keep you from extending your Boxcar rail. With our new straight and 15 degree coping connectors you can now connect two or more Boxcar rails together for a longer grind.

Each coping connector kit comes with two pieces of ArmorGrind to span the gap between the Boxcar rails. This will require you to trim the ArmorGrind on each end of the Boxcars to length. If you have any questions, please feel free to call.

Our friends over in Wisconsin with the Midwest Best, held a Rail Jam down town Wausau Wisconsin. They used some RailWerx components to build a pretty sick down flat down press box. Check out the quick edit they put together from the event. -Johnny

Hey Everyone! Thought you’d like to get to know another variable in the RailWerx equation.

My name is Johnny Sanchez and I’m responsible for providing support in the product development department here at RailWerx. I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and I enjoy fabricating, free skiing and riding my dirtbike (I feel like this turned into a speed date). If you have any questions about our product line, or if you want me to build a 3D model of your great idea for a killer custom rail. Just shoot me an email, jsanchez@railwerx.com, or comment on this post. If your idea is good enough we may add it to our product line :-) .

Take it easy.

Johnny

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that we now have a video online that introduces our ArmorGrind system.  I get quite a few calls and emails from people interested in using ArmorGrind for their own rails so I thought I’d make a quick video on how it’s used and even an example application on something you might want to build yourself.  Please forgive the amateur quality of the video, I didn’t edit it and honestly have no experience making videos but thought I’d give it a go.

Here is the direct link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvbRoDsXv94

As always, we would love to hear some feedback.  In particular I’d like to know what other things you would like to see videos on.

Marc
